EMPLOYMENT-BASED IMMIGRATION VISA – HIGH QUALITY AND INVESTOR APPLICATION PROCESS

Applicants for a professional green card are usually expected to have a college degree or other particularly high qualification.

Only a contingent of 10,000 Green Cards per year is available for low-skilled workers. Investors who create jobs for ten independent individuals by investing capital in new business ventures in the United States may receive an EB-5 permanent resident card.

The investment must be between at least $900,000 and $1,800,000 depending on the employment situation in the geographic area. The settlement permit is only granted after two years if the promised investment is actually made and jobs are created during this period.

Family Reunion

Permanent residents have a number of advantages over visa holders when they want their non-US family members to join them for family reunification. However, their opportunities do not match those of US citizens. The table below compares the rights of visa holders, permanent residents (green card holders), and U.S. citizens (citizens).

WHAT RIGHTS DO I HAVE AS A GREEN CARD HOLDER?

  • A permanent resident permit in the United States.
  • A right to apply for U.S. citizenship.
  • Entitlement to state and social benefits.
  • The right to free choice of occupation.
  • The right to freely choose a place of residence.
